Vanessa Urbanski is founder and master teacher at En Francais. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Rutgers University with a major in French and has been a fluent speaker for over twenty years. She has studied French language and literature at the Sorbonne in Paris and at the University Francois Rabelais in Tours. Since her time in France, Vanessa has embraced her passion for French by teaching both adults and children in various capacities.
As a high school teacher, she implemented the FLES program (Foreign Language in the Elementary Schools), traveled abroad with her students, and taught Advanced Placement French. As a French instructor and Curriculum Coordinator for the Language Immersion Institute at the State University of New York, College at New Paltz, she was chosen to join a team of senior instructors who were deemed to possess the energy and enthusiasm necessary to effectively teach using immersion methodology. She created and delivered a structured curriculum to the Institute Director for French classes at the elementary, intermediate and advanced levels.
Vanessa's experience with French language and culture also extends to the corporate sector. She has worked in high level capacities for the subsidiaries of two French companies: Club Mediterranee (Club Med), and BNP Paribas, a leading French bank.
